Virtual. Electronic meetings are meetings where individuals use technology platforms to participate virtually in the meeting without being present in-person. Examples include: Zoom, internet video calls, and other methods of communication that allow all members to fully participate in the business of the meeting. Email does not allow for full participation.

Digital communication. Messages sent by any electronic means such as email, text, instant message, and tweet.

Paid worker. A person who works under the supervision or control of an employer and who is entitled to wages (and other benefits) for that work.

Hirer of worker(s). Employers are responsible for the work of both employees and contractors who are entitled to payment (and often benefits) for that work.
