Contact person. A person designated by a non-profit to answer questions about how it collects, uses, retains, and discloses personal information.

Privacy Policy

Guidelines for information. A document that describes how a non-profit deals with personal information. Dealing with personal information includes its collection, use, disclosure, and retention (storage).

Progressive Discipline

Employment practice. Actions taken by an employer to correct the poor behaviour of an employee. For example, a common first step is issuing a warning to correct the behaviour. Before issuing a warning or otherwise disciplining an employee, it is important for a non-profit to always start by asking the employee for the reason for their conduct. If the employee has a good reason for their actions (e.g. a health issue), a non-profit may have a duty to accommodate the employee under human rights law.a
